Cairns Tropical Pride

17th and 24th August 2013

This year's Festival currently comprises three confirmed events:

Sat 17 August - DNA Splash! Tropical Pride Pool Party at the Pullman Reef Hotel and Casino

Sat 24 August - Pride Float in the Cairns Festival Parade

Sat 24 August - Out! Cairns' Tropical Pride Festival Dance Party

Regretably, there will be no Fair Day in 2013.

Cairns Tropical Pride Inc. has been unable to secure any grant funding for this year's festival. In previous years, grant funding has assisted the organisation offset some of the larger expenses, such as the hire of the Tanks Venue. Also, the State Government's defunding of QAHC means that the resources and support provided by QAHC in previous years is no longer available. It is not possible to host Fair Day in 2013 without grant funding and QAHC's support.

The Committee is exploring options to put Fair Day on a sustainable financial footing and again hold the event in 2014.
